I have accidentally lived one of my favorite mottos, It’s never too late—in literacy, or in life—to revise. (Nancy Thayer)

The paths have been bumpy and never quite straight. Several u-turns, retracing of steps, and full blown route changes. Grief, fear, angst, love. So much love. And here we are.

With a BA in Public Relations and a Master’s in Education (see? pivot…), I taught English for over ten years. I love the craft of teaching, and the brilliant and melodramatic potential teenagers bring to the table. My passion for young adult fiction is fused with hope—to inspire questions, reflection, and further investigation. Please. Young people. Pay attention.

I live in Wisconsin and am here for the stereotypes. My husband Chris and I have three brilliant and terrible teenagers, Charlie, Henry, and Jane, and two perfect dogs, Nellie and Bruce.

This is my first novel. Brave or stupid? I know, I know. But I did it anyway.
